Moringa oil is derived from the seeds of Moringa oleifera, a small tree native to the Himalayan mountains. Sometimes referred to as ‘the miracle tree’ or “ the Drumstick Tree’, virtually all parts of the moringa plant can be used for either industrial, medicinal or nutritional purposes, including its seeds, roots, bark, flowers, and leaves. Moringa oil is derived from the Moringa seed and contains many nutritional compounds, including monounsaturated fats, protein, sterols, and tocopherols.
There are over 90 nutrients, more than 45 antioxidants and more than 30 anti inflammatory compounds contained in the moringa tree. It has 17 times the calcium of milk, 15 times the potassium of bananas, 25 times more iron than spinach and 4 times more vitamin A than carrots.
